My little sister graduated this year so my mom and I decided to take her and a friend on a cruise to Catalina, Ensenada, and San Diego. Ty and Ruthie were so amazed at all there was to do on this floating hotel, they had a great time. My mom and I have been on quite a few cruises so it was fun watching them have their first time. Go Patrick our favorite dancer in the cruise shows.

I am a Family Readiness Volunteer for the state of California, for the Army National Guard. I was selected to go to Dearborn, Michigan in July as the volunteer support staff. There are representatives from all 50 states and 2 territories. I had a great time and met so many people and fostered tons of new friendships. So I wanted to share a few photos of us.

Here are the pages I have worked on all week. Literally since Monday this is all I have done. It's for a swap on the cricut message board. I had more fun then I should have. I am one of those people that work great under pressure. They're simple but that's how I like it done. Enjoy.

Tea Party

These are some pictures from our 5th Annual Girls Tea Party.

My Mom and I started this a few years back as a way of teaching our girls feminine grace and etiquette. We have a botanical lesson, a poetry reading, Bible scriptures, etiquette lesson and a craft. We have taught table setting, crochet, hygiene, phone etiquette, scrapbooking and this time we made Artist Trading Cards. The girls loved the mini craft and the trading at the end so we all had one of each card. There is always tons of food, to include the chocolate fountain, which burned out this year. Of course there is TEA, hot and cold. It's just another great opportunity for our family and friends to come together and celebrate each, life and being women, phenomenal women. We hope to continue this tradition and each year invite new people.

Ruthie's General Hospital

This my Best Friend Ruth Peoples, and her Doctor, not her son, Dr. Washington. She means the world to me. She recently underwent a major back surgery where titanium screws the size of my pinky finger were removed from her spine. This will hopefully relieve her pain and problems walking. It was supposed to be a quick procedure with a short stay in the hospital. Well Ruthie wouldn't have that. She developes some complications and has to go back in to surgery to fix it. Instead of a two day stay she was there almost two weeks. I was so grateful the hospital had a guest bed, but after a few nights you know it's only meant for a short stay. Please keep her in your prayers because we love her pieces and want her up and running soon.

Trinchies

Okay here are my Trinchies. They are three inch square works of art. Mine are very simple which is my style. I added stickles to give the images a bit more sparkle. I like them and hope you do too. The themes are Baby, Spring, Birthday, Wedding, Nature, Animals, Food, Christmas, and St.Patty's day. For the swap we had to make five of each theme.

Addicted to Love

Okay here is My Addicted to Love ATC. Again simple my style. I used the dollar paper from Target I liked it. What works really great with the ATC is the adhesive backed paper. I use the 2 1/2 x 12 in strips by DCWV they are already cut and work great giving me a clean slate to work with since by base paper is usually recycled. I am a recycle NUT. I save all scraps to be reused at a later date. I get laughed at and joked about but I use every inch of my paper, it cost too much to throw away. Cereal boxes are great for ATC any kind of thin chipboard. So think twice before you through it away, "how can I use this in my crafts?" Works for me.

This is my January card front, different club. We only make the front of the cards to be attached to a card base later or just for ideas. Very simple because I have been so swamped with making stuff.

The themes are "pink and green" my favorite colors, for January, my birthday month. Febuary is "love" of course" March is "critters" I haven't finished and April is "earth day". Tell me what you think.

Okay my new favorite thing is Artist Trading Cards. I am in a few clubs that make them and they are so much fun. They are like a snapshot of a card. They're quick, easy and rewarding. Here are the pictures for the first three groups that I've made...

Well I have been very busy with my husband traveling alot, my kids going back to school, my dad with cabin fever and my brother getting married. I made the invitations for the wedding and I will be making the favors for the reception. I can't believe my brother is getting married. Even though I was younger then him he just doesn't seem old enough or ready to get married. I just hope he's happy.

Back From Vacation

Hi Everyone,

I'm back and I need a vacation from my vacation. Two weeks in the Alaskan wilderness is enough to make anybody tired. We saw so many amazing sites, I can't wait to get scrapping. I even had fun in the scrapbook classes on the ship. The sights were amazing, the shopping was great, but the best thing was the two scrapbook stores I found in Alaska.

Shout out to Jennifer and Amy at The Creating Place in Juneau, Alaska. They have a great store, that's tucked away off the main street and these ladies are both really sweet. They made me feel at home and didn't mind me hanging around happy to be on solid ground and in a scrapping sanctuary. I only wish I could have stayed longer. They don't offer classes during the busy tourist season, but they do to the locals once a calm has settled over this cool, crisp Alaskan city.

My name is Nia Flannery. I am a scrapbook and cardmaker. I have been doing both for about eight years now and I love it. My mother got me started scrapbooking as a hobby to relieve stress, it works. I started cardmaking once I saw the possiblities of PAPER!!! It is definetly my passion. I teach scrapbook and card class in Temecula, California. I'm trying to grow my business but I'm stuggling. I have the talent but I guess not the marketing ability.
